Julep Bar in Houston

I love a tasty cocktail. We had seen this bar driving by, and the reviews looked good so we decided to check it out this last friday after work. Houston heat was creating a sauna type ambience, but it was still pleasant in their patio. The bar inside at 8pm was already completely full.

I had a "Self sufficient" for my first drink, and later a "Queen's Never Die". The Self Sufficient may be my favorite current cocktail, very sweet and fruity, yet still complex in flavor that kept my tastebuds wondering. The Queen's Never Die had a bit too much going on for my taste, almost with an herbal finish. However, they were both very entertaining and fun to try.

Brandon ordered some chicken bites for us, which were tasty with a nice dipping sauce. We also tried the lobster rolls which came on heavenly buns.

I'd love to return here to try something new, and/or to order that Self Sufficient again. I'd also love to try out the very cute interior, but will need to practice my best hovering to snag a seat.
